Piers Morgan has taken to social media to share an update on his overall health from a hospital bed.
The journalist and TV presenter posted a snap of himself in hospital as well as an X-ray scan.
Morgan said that he had 'fractured' his femur while tripping on a step outside a 'London hotel restaurant'.
The 60-year-old required a full hip replacement as a result, which means that he will now face restricted movement for up to three months, while doctors have also advised against long-haul travel for this period while he recovers from surgery.

Despite suffering from the painful fall, Morgan seemed okay enough to make a joke directed at none other than Donald Trump in posts across his accounts.

Morgan further quipped that he 'fell like a sack of spuds' after misjudging a step in a restaurant.
Taking to X, he wrote: "!! BREAKING NEWS !!
"1. Tripped on small step.

"7. No long-haul for 12 wks.
"8. New Year off to a cracking start!
"9. I blame Donald Trump."
The post is reminiscent of a tweet he shared back in 2019 after he was hospitalised for gastritis and duodenitis, blaming 'vegan sausage rolls, Brexit and Donald Trump'.
Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach, with duodenitis being the swelling of the first part of the small intestine, known as the duodenum.

He wrote on the same social media platform at the time: "If you really want to know, I was diagnosed with stomach gastritis and duodenitis.
"I blame eating a mouthful of vegan sausage roll, Brexit & Donald Trump."

Some celebs weighed in with messages of support, as Lorraine Kelly commented: "You daft bugger - hope you are OK!"
Fred Sirieix penned: "Jeez speedy recovery," while Eamonn Holmes wrote: "Well, sincere sympathy my friend but I am the expert in this field …. if u want advice or a visitor! Lucozade and Grapes?"

Morgan's accident came days after he seemingly responded to Trump's move to impose more tariffs on the UK and Europe following their stance on his desire to acquire Greenland from Denmark.
The journalist wrote: "Britain should repurchase America. After all, it was ours once, and it would enhance our North Atlantic security.
"If you don’t sell it to us, President Trump, we’re going to impose tariffs on the U.S. and any country who supports you in resisting this very good deal. Fair?"
