Another tour announcement, another run of complaints about ticket prices.
And let’s be honest, it feels like it’s getting more expensive than ever to see your favourite artists.
The latest addition to this is king of the northeast, Sam Fender. But it seems he’s not happy either, as he’s issued a response to say the rumoured prices for his tour next year are ‘getting changed’.
The Geordie from North Shields announced this week that’ll be performing in Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Dublin, Cardiff, London and Edinburgh next June and July – with a nice Glastonbury shaped hole in between, by the way.

Fans are buzzing about the Proper Massive Stadium Tour’27 but the same can’t exactly be said for the prices, with the cheapest rumoured to be around £64.

Rumoured ticket prices
Gavin Davis regularly posts rumoured concerts and prices on Instagram, which often turn out to be true.
And when he shared the breakdown of ticket prices for Fender’s tour, the artist himself commented in response.
Davis’ account claims that standing tickets for the hometown shows at St James’ park will be priced at £98.60 while seating will range from £86.50 to £112.90.
At Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, front standing will reportedly cost £119, with regular standing at £98.10 and seated from £64 to £119.
Taking to Wembley Stadium in London, front standing is allegedly up to £130.75, with regular at £98.85 and seated from £64.75 to £130.75.
Then up in Edinburgh at Murrayfield, front standing is reported to be £120.95 while regular standing goes up to £100.05 and seated is said to be from £65.95 to £120.95.
And in Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, the tickets are reported to be £119.60 for front standing, £98.70 for standing and from £64.60 to £119.60 for seated.
So yes, the show reported to have the highest price for its cheapest tickets is the hometown gigs in Newcastle.

Sam Fender’s response
Racking up thousands of likes on Instagram, his official account commented to call it ‘bollocks’.
“I’m not happy with these prices, they’re getting changed,” the page wrote.
“It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on. The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it.
“I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It’s bollocks and It won’t be happening on this tour.”
Backlash to ‘disgraceful’ ticket prices
Sharing a similar attitude to Fender’s account, fans said the prices ‘ruined their day’ as they pointed out how cheap tickets to his shows have been in the past.
“I was kind of right to be scared of Sam fender ticket prices though I expected around £90 live music is getting so expensive,” one put.
Another put: “The cost of concert tickets has gone mad why have i just seen sam fender standing at st james park is near £100.”
“Sooo disappointed in the Sam fender ticket prices. live music is never gonna be decently affordable again is it,” a third put.
While others did note that Fender probably isn’t setting the prices himself and that it’s pretty regular prices for stadium tours nowadays.
“Good on him. Writes good music works hard and pay his taxes. Wish him well,” one fan wrote.
