Sidemen member Tobi breaks down true impact of KSI leaving group

One of the Sidemen has spoken out about why he thinks KSI left them and the difficulties of fitting in filming duties with the rest of the things going on in your life.

Last week KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, announced he was leaving the popular content creators, saying he'd 'gone back and forth on this decision for a very long time' before coming to his conclusion.

"The truth is nothing bad has happened. This decision is completely my own," he'd explained in a video where he said he was trying to find more balance in his life.

The Sidemen responded by saying KSI's exit 'did not happen in the way any of us wanted it to', saying that KSI, also nicknamed 'JJ', had made the announcement before they'd had time to put together a joint message or a proper send off.

They're planning to continue, and KSI acknowledged that some of them might be 'angry' with him for the decision he made but he said he loved them and had no regrets.

One of the Sidemen, Tobi, has since spoken out to say he understands how difficult it is to be a part of the team and the time pressures it puts on all of them.

In a recent video he said: "There's seven of us in the Sidemen. To have all seven of us in any Sidemen shoot means all seven of us have to be aligned in our calendar.

"That means we're gonna shoot a video this week, we all have to have the same day free, the same time free, usually, to get it done.

"The fact you need to be in sync with six other people at any given time to produce content where you're all there means your life becomes so regimented around that particular schedule."

Tobi explained that 'three days of Sidemen shoot is not the same as three days of Britain's Got Talent', since it required seven people who have other things going on in their lives to find enough time where they're all free.

It's one of the perils of adult life, there is so much going on and trying to find time when you and a bunch of other busy friends are all free together is a chuffing nightmare.

As Tobi put it, doing a Sidemen shoot means being 'synced with six other people's days' as he said 'the Sidemen calendar is the hardest thing to organise'

"When JJ said he's had to take a step back from Sidemen to give himself more time for family, right now his life is Sidemen calendar then family and his goals around that," he added.

"Him taking a step back from Sidemen is now going to all him to put family as the core bit of his calendar."
