Nickelodeon star Lindsey Shaw has opened up about her struggles with addiction, speaking shortly after former co-star Tylor Chase was filmed on the streets.
Chase made headlines after a viral video taken of him sparked concern as he appeared to be unwell, with some headlines suggesting he was homeless.
Chase himself has spoken out to deny that he is homeless, saying that ‘a lot of people help out’.

Multiple former celebrity co-stars of the Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide actor have come forward with offers of help, including Daniel Curtis Lee sharing that he had met up with Chase, had pizza, and booked him into a hotel.

The videos of Chase have also motivated Lindsey Shaw to speak out and offer her support, particularly as she stated she relates to struggling with finding stardom at a young age on the Nickelodeon show, something she has spoken about at length in the past.
Shaw starred as Moze on the Ned’s Declassified alongside Chase and would later go on to appear in a recurring role on Pretty Little Liars.
She started up a watch back podcast called Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide in February 2023 alongside Curtis Lee and her other co-star Devon Werkheiser.
On the podcast, she opened in July of 2023 about how she’d lost her role on Pretty Little Liars in part due to her issues with addiction and weight loss.

In addition to this, she said she once woke up in a mental facility due to her drug and alcohol use.
She stated that after overdosing due to a mixture of alcohol, Xanax, and Adderall, she had her stomach pumped and woke up in a facility on an involuntary three day hold, saying: “I blacked out for two days… then when I woke up - on a bed face-down - in a mental facility.
“The first thing I did was get up, like, ‘Where the f**k [am I?]’.
“I go to the doors, and just like a cartoon, two orderlies [grabbed me by each arm] and walked me back in there and I was like, ‘Holy s**t, I have to stay here.’”
Shaw stated that she ended up in another mental facility just six months later after being picked up for drinking in public. Speaking about losing her role on the TV show she said: “I basically got let go from Pretty Little Liars season 5 because of the weight that I had lost.

“When I had my drug problem and I was in between working on stuff, you know, I would never have to, like, address my relationship with food because I was always like, ‘Oh, I could always just go get more Adderall and be OK with it,’ so it was really hard.”
She stated that she had ‘given away everything she cared about’.
Speaking about Tylor Chase when videos first appeared of him in September of this year she said: “I’ve been somebody like that, you know what I mean?”
When Daniel Lee Curtis spoke about plans to go down and see him, she said: “I would love to go with you, I know I’m free this weekend coming.
“I’m down to go alone, but I would just like love to go with you. I’m with you in the same boat.
“Yeah, you can’t do much, but I would just love to go speak to him and look at him, and look him in the eye, you know? I miss Tylor, I love Tylor so so much.”
