Uma Thurman explained Quentin Tarantino's 'dildo punishment' he would use on people while on set

The director had a unique way of punishing people who fell asleep on his movie sets

Should you ever find yourself on the set of a Quentin Tarantino movie, then you're best advised to not fall asleep.

For one, you'll be missing out on the chance to see one of Hollywood's highest regarded directors do his thing, and since his suggested final film got scrapped, you'd be seeing whatever replaces it.

However, there's another reason you'd not want to doze off and that's because if you do you might be introduced to a tool Uma Thurman once spoke of.

While she was promoting Kill Bill vol 1 in 2003, Thurman went on The Conan O'Brien Show and explained what happens to those who can't stop snoring on set.

Apparently he would go and fetch a rather large dildo and made sure the dozing individual had their picture taken alongside it as they slept.

"He had a weapon of choice, there was a large dildo. This large dildo, and we're talking something like this," Thurman said as she indicated towards her forearm to provide some scale to this plastic penis of epic proportions.

"I don't know who this is made for, some kind of elephant rapist would use this thing. This elephant rapist tool, or elephant inseminator, whatever it was.

"Whenever snores would be found in various corners of the set, would be brought out like Jaws and then would be presented at some ungodly, horrific angle next to the face of the offending sleeper."

So there you have it folks, anyone who had the temerity to doze off on Tarantino's set would soon end up having the gargantuan genital replica put near them, and Thurman said that wasn't all.

She continued: "There would be photographs, photographs would be taken, and as the photographs were taken there was a wall of shame that started to be built.

"I attempted to kidnap this wall on several occasions and I believe the board it was on went missing and was then retrieved by the grip department or something.

"Then it was kept under lock and key. I can't remember what actors got photographed with the elephant inseminator.

"I do remember that at one point during a scene we heard snoring and found it was Bill, our first AD. I think he got hit up with. Big Ben I think they called it."

O'Brien said she was 'so lovely and talented I don't know how I got you down this road'.

Thurman isn't the only one who has told this story either, as Tarantino mainstay Tim Roth said the dildo was called 'Big Jerry' and you'd get in even more trouble if you tried to take your photo down.

Roth told Jimmy Kimmel that anyone trying to take their dildo photo down would see it replaced with a larger image, and said that on the set of Django Unchained apparently things reached such a point that the crew started wearing t-shirts with the image on.
