Bizarre wedding invite rule Georgia Toffolo had as she reveals she's got £0 in joint bank account with James Watt

What an odd thing to do

Usually when it comes to weddings, it's usually the bride who gets whatever they want.

So it was something of a surprise when actress and influencer Georgia Toffolo and BrewDog co-founder James Watt tied the knot in strange circumstances last month, perhaps vying away from the typical weddings you might expect from mega-rich influencers and business owners.

The Made in Chelsea star got engaged to Watt in October last year and they were married in sunny Scotland in March, with Aberdeenshire no doubt providing the exact weather you'd hope for on the happiest day of your life.

Watt, who stepped down as BrewDog CEO last year, has earned himself something of a bad rep over the years, perhaps due to the company refusing to pay some of its London employees within the living wage for the city.

Despite his business success, Toffolo recently took to Instagram to quash the idea of her being a gold-digger, suggesting that they had £0 in their joint bank account, which is frankly very hard to believe.

Perhaps in a bid to restore his image as just your average joe, with an estimated net worth of over £200 million, the 42-year-old went back to his roots with a wedding ceremony in the same church that his grandparents had married in.

The only problem? Guests were given 24 hours to get there. While this might be easy enough for the content creators and millionaires of this world, the vast majority of us would struggle to get the day off at that notice, let alone get up to Scotland in that time given the state of trains in this country.

Even then, what am I going to wear, what gift should I bring, what's on the menu? These are all questions people like to know the answer to a long time before setting off to a wedding, so you can forgive a few great aunts and university friends for maybe giving the ice-cold wedding conditions a miss.

James revealed the details on his Instagram, writing: "Georgia and I got married today.

"Some key details: 1st March 2025 57.6722° N, 2.3372° W (Gardenstown, Northeast Scotland) 6°C, 17-knot winds (because Scottish weather never disappoints) Spaniel ring bearer.

"Guests - whoever could get there with 24 hours notice, Scottish honeymoon incoming. Married in the same church my grandparents were married in."

It's perhaps not the most bizarre wedding situation you can think of however, with one bride determined to sword fight a groomsmen in order to win her husband's hand.
