The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has reportedly filed for divorce, months after being involved in a shooting case with Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers.
Jillian Lauren Shriner was arrested by police in April this year, after authorities responded to calls of an unrelated hit-and-run.
Three suspects left their vehicle and ran into a residential street from a nearby motorway, when the LAPD said they spotted one of the suspects in the back garden of a home.

Shriner was allegedly armed with a handgun in a neighbouring yard to the suspect, and officers alleged that the 51-year-old fired shots at those on duty.
She was not involved in the original hit-and-run, though it was confirmed that she was non-fatally shot in the shoulder before running into her house and emerging with a woman who was thought to be a babysitter.
Shriner was then approached by police and put in handcuffs in the Eagle Rock neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
The LAPD confirmed that 'evidence such as a shell casing and video footage' showed Shriner ignoring commands from police and firing a weapon at them.

The Department's Director of Communications, Jennifer Forkish, said that she 'repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers'.
Shriner was apparently told to 'drop the handgun numerous times' before eventually being shot by officers.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges a month later, and in September, a judge granted the author a mental health diversion, meaning that Shriner avoided jail time for the incident.
It is now being reported by People that Shriner is filing for divorce after 20 years of marriage, alleging 'irreconcilable differences' between her and the Weezer bassist.

Shriner has reportedly asked for spousal support, requesting that Scott pay for her attorney fees, and she is set to change her name back to Jillian Lauren. Neither have publicly confirmed or denied their split, two decades on from their wedding in Hawaii.
The Shriners share two sons, aged 13 and 17, both of whom the author is seeking joint legal and physical custody for.
According to the report, the filing for divorce comes after Shriner underwent two back-to-back surgeries after a cancer diagnosis, with the treatments including a full hysterectomy.

The incident involving Jillian happened just days before Weezer performed at Coachella. Scott was seen walking their four dogs outside their home soon after, where he was asked about his wife's attempted murder charge at the time.

"She’s alright, thank you for asking. See you at Coachella!" he told the New York Post, choosing not to address the events during their performance.
