Resurfaced Clip Of First Dates Episode Shows 'World's Most Awkward Date'

A resurfaced clip of what’s being billed as the ‘world’s most awkward date’ is sending cringewaves through the community.

First captured during a 2018 episode of First Dates Australia, a snippet of Libby and Nick’s hair-raisingly uncomfortable date has been reposted by TikTok user Ukdrilla1800, and quite frankly, someone needs to have words with the lad.

After telling Libby that he wants to split the bill in the most drawn out, uncomfortable way conceivable, Nick then rummages in his back pocket for a pathetically short amount of time before declaring: “I think my wallet might actually be outside, strangely enough.”

It’s very unclear why Nick’s wallet is, presumably, just sitting on the pavement outside the restaurant, and instead of getting up and making the two-second trip to retrieve it, he tries to flog the waitress his cellphone, insisting: “It’s about $1,300.”

Why on earth Nick would rather give away his phone than cough up his half of a $100 dollar restaurant bill is anyone’s guess, but by this point it’s safe to say that love is most definitely not on the cards, especially if Libby’s bewildered facial expressions are anything to go by.

Strangely, it doesn’t appear to have occurred to Nick that his behaviour is absolutely not on, because when asked by the waitress: “This is a bit embarrassing, isn’t it?” he responds: “Is it?”

As it became increasingly clear that Nick may in fact be a robotic android, Libby noted: “This is awkward.”

On to the post-date interview, where Nick nodded and smirked as Libby told him: “No offence, but I found that I was talked at a lot. I felt like most of the time you were talking about yourself. I felt like I couldn’t get a word in.”

When asked whether she’d like to go on a second date with Nick, Libby gestured with her hands that she’d rather be beheaded, before adding, “No,” for clarity.

Nick sort of smiled and nodded before the footage cut.

TikTok users were quick to share their thoughts on what they’d just witnessed, with one commenting: “That guy’s a complete joke. Was he really expecting a second date?”

Another added: “Bless her, she deserves better and he needs work,” while a third noted: “I would have paid my half and walked out leaving him there to settle his part.”

Clearly stunned by what they’d just seen, one person wondered: “Is this a prank show?”
