Courteney Cox Revealed She Doesn't Remember Being On Friends

Courteney Cox Revealed She Doesn't Remember Being On Friends

The actor says she's always surprised when she sees herself in an old episode

Courteney Cox says she doesn't remember being on Friends.

The actor is best known for playing the neurotic Monica Geller in the hit sitcom, which ran for 10 years and more than 200 episodes.

However, the 57-year-old has admitted that she really doesn't recall much about her days on the show.

Speaking on the Today show, Cox said she realised how much she didn't remember when she took part in the reunion special last year.

She said: "I should’ve watched all 10 seasons because when I did the reunion and was asked questions, I was, like, 'I don’t remember being there'.

"I see it on TV sometimes and I stop and go, 'Oh my God, I don’t remember this at all'.

"Yeah. I don’t remember filming so many episodes."

When asked why she doesn't remember much about working with the rest of the gang, she put it down to a simple case of 'bad memory'.

She laughed: "It’s really basic. I don’t remember any trauma in my childhood, but I have, like, three memories. I don’t know. I don't know why.

"I’m kinda bummed that we didn’t spend more time taking pictures. Because I don’t have a lot to look back at."

However, Cox does recall an amazing trip she and the rest of the cast enjoyed together before they were famous.

Friends director and TV sitcom legend James 'Jim' Burrows flew out the entire cast to Las Vegas in 1994.

The actor told the New York Post that Burrows gave each cast member some money and warned them this will be the last moment they wouldn’t be recognised in public.

She said: “He gave us all $500. And he said, ‘I want you to take care, like, really take notice of this moment because it will be the last time that all six of you together can walk through a casino'.

"And we were like, ‘Really?’ And it was true. We never could never do that (again).”

She added: "I mean, I don’t wanna sound like, ‘Look at us'. We’re not, you know, The Beatles. But people feel like they know you.

"If we were all to walk down the street, six of us, it would be, I think it would be really interesting to people."

In 2019, Cox also posted a photo tribute to the infamous Las Vegas Trip with a caption that read: "The one where the six of us went to Vegas and no one knew we were F.R.I.E.N.D.S yet."
