The Graham Norton Show returned on Friday (4 February) night and the host was joined by Courteney Cox - though many viewers thought she'd rather have been somewhere else.

The Friends star joined guests Taron Egerton, Minnie Driver, Uma Thurman and Ariana DeBose on the show.

People thought Cox looked bored on the show.

The 57-year-old was promoting her new comedy-horror series Shining Vale, and judging by the reaction on social media, she better hope it's more entertaining than her appearance on the show.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "He [Norton] really is superb at managing the guests. It was a tough one tonight, too - Courteney Cox looked like she wasn't present at all, almost dissociated.

"Her eyes looked glazed over, which isn't how she used to come across."

Another added: "Courteney Cox looks bored. Such a shame."

A third said: "#Courteneycox looks like she wants to be somewhere else. So awkward."

Anyone else think Courtney Cox looks really fed up? #GrahamNortonShow

To be fair to Cox, the thrill of being asked questions about a show you made decades ago has probably well and truly worn off.

Whether or not she was bored on the show is of course a matter of opinion, but she clearly had a great time on The John Bishop Show, which aired last night.

Writing on Instagram, Cox said she 'loved being on the show' with Bishop, who she described as a 'friend'.

Speaking on the show, she explained that they had to overcome an accent barrier to build this friendship.

She said: "Scouse? I don't even know what that means.

"I know that when I first met you, I needed to see your mouth move at the same time.

"If we were taking a walk and I was behind you it was like uh oh... I didn't understand."

β€œWhen was the last time a ghost burned you with a cigarette?” Okay, the man makes a point. #ShiningVale pic.twitter.com/nKXFkio8uT

Shining Vale comes out next month and sees Cox take on the role of novelist Pat Phelps.

A synopsis of the show reads: "Shining Vale is a horror comedy about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place.

"But no one seems to notice except for Pat (Courteney Cox), who's convinced she’s either depressed or possessed – turns out, the symptoms are exactly the same."
