Harry Potter Fans Stunned By Daniel Radcliffe’s Physical Transformation To Play Weird Al

Harry Potter fans cannot believe Daniel Radcliffe's transformation as he plays Weird Al Yankovic in a new biopic. Have a look for yourself in the trailer below:

The Brit actor is a long way from Hogwarts and looks unrecognisable as the zany musician, with a thick, curly barnet and interesting streak of face fuzz.

WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story follows the rise to cult success of Alfred 'Weird Al' Yankovic, an American singer who is known for his satirical tunes.

The official synopsis for the film says: "The biopic holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like 'Eat It' and 'Like a Surgeon' to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. 

"WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time."

Aside from his music, Weird Al is also known for his pretty unique sense of style.

But in an unexpected twist to his preparation for the role, Radcliffe seems to have really put the hours in at the gym.

In one scene, we see a topless Dan strutting across a stage, and fans are struggling to deal with a 'buff Weird Al'.

Sharing their amazement, one fan wrote: "Daniel Radcliffe as ripped Weird Al is my favourite Daniel Radcliffe."

Echoing the love, another said: "NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I SEE IT, I AM NEVER PREPARED FOR RIPPED & SEXY DANIEL RADCLIFFE."

A third said: "In a world with so much suffering, it is good to see that there are still things out there that promise to be pure goodness and joy. Daniel Radcliffe as a buff Weird Al – what's not to love?"

While another asked: "Why is nobody talking about how buff Daniel Radcliffe is in the new Weird Al film???"

Speaking about his turn as Yankovich, Radcliffe previously told The Hollywood Reporter: "Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I’m honoured to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al’s depraved and scandalous life."

After the teaser dropped, many fans shared their excitement for his portrayal, with one tweeting: "This is the ultimate role for Daniel Radcliffe."

Another commented: "I never knew I needed Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al in my life until just now."

A third said that ‘whoever cast Daniel Radcliffe’ was an ‘absolute genius’, while a fourth added: "The world does not deserve to be graced by Daniel Radcliffe playing Weird Al but they did it anyways."

Some naysayers, however, weren't looking forward to the flick quite as much.

One asked: "Am I the only one who thinks that Daniel Radcliffe being cast as Weird Al is bizarre? It looks like a fake biopic."

Another agreed: "Weird Al is 6 feet tall. Does Daniel do the entire film standing on a box?"
