The singer said she's been feeling more feminine recently, so she's adopted the new pronouns.

Demi Lovato has revealed she no longer identifies with they/them pronouns.

The singer previously explained how her gender expression and identity was non-binary, which meant it didn't fall under the male or female category.

She's since opened up about how this identity is still fluid, but it now leans more into the feminine and therefore she uses new pronouns.

Lovato was asked by Tamara Dhia on the Spout podcast what the they/them pronouns meant to her.

This triggered the 29-year-old to reveal her new identity.

"Yeah, so, they/them is... I've actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again," she explained.

She added: "For me, I'm such a fluid person that, I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced in my masculine and feminine energy so that when I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom and it said 'women' and 'men,' I didn't feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn't feel necessarily like a woman.

"I didn't feel like a man. I just felt like a human."

"That's what they/them is about for me. It's just about, like, feeling human at your core.

"Recently, I've been feeling more feminine, and so I've adopted she/her again.

"But I think what's important is, like, nobody's perfect. Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning. It's just all about respect."

When she revealed to the world in May last year that she was adopting the they/them pronouns, she explained how the change allowed her 'to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am, and am still discovering'.

She was honest about the concept that her journey of self-discovery was new, exciting and confusing.

Lovato even explained how she would sometimes misgender herself.

She told her followers that it's okay if they get the they/them pronouns wrong from time to time.

"It's a huge transition to change the pronouns I've used for myself my entire life. And it's difficult to remember sometimes," she said.

"As long as you keep trying to respect my truth, and as long as I remember my truth, the shift will come naturally.

"I'm just grateful for your effort in trying to remember what means so much to my healing process."

She added: "It's important to me that you try, but if you make a mistake, it's okay. Remember that I love you, and to keep going."
