Disney Announces Marvel Avengers Campus Is Opening In Paris This Summer

The new Marvel Avengers Campus will let fans channel their inner Iron man or Spider-Man

A brand new Marvel Avengers Campus is opening in Disneyland Paris this summer, promising 'thrill-packed adventures’ for visitors of all ages.

Disney announced the news in a blog post today (Tuesday 24 May), saying the new area will let fans channel their inner Iron Man or Spider-Man.

The post, shared by Global Public Relations Coordinator Andi Sakowski, said: “Created by Tony Stark himself to discover, recruit and train the next generation of Super Heroes, recruits will be empowered to take an active role alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“This includes two action-packed attractions where you can sling webs like Spider-Man or fly into space with Iron Man and Captain Marvel.”

Opening to the public on 20 July, the Marvel Avengers Campus will include the Avengers Assemble: Flight Force ride, which is billed as 'every thrill seeker’s dream’.

Exclusive to Disneyland Paris, the ride will see you brief by Iron Man and equipped with ‘Mark 80 armor for his missions at Avengers Campus in Paris’.

“And there’s no time to waste as recruits join not only Iron Man, but Captain Marvel herself on a mission through space in a vehicle Stark has equipped with a homing device, to lure this threat away from Earth,” Sakowski explained in the blog post.

And that’s not all fans will find at the new Marvel Avengers Campus, which will also boast a Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure.

Aimed at ‘recruits of all ages’, the attraction uses specially designed, innovative technology that recognises body movements and gestures to let you create spiderwebs just like Peter Parker.

All you have to do is ‘reach out your hands and start slinging webs from your wrists’, newfound powers that you’ll need as ‘the Spider-Bots multiply, becoming harder and harder to beat’.

"It’s time to team up with Spidey and help capture the out-of-control Spider-Bots, Peter Parker’s robot sidekicks, before they wreak havoc on the Campus,” the Disney blog post said, adding: “After helping Spider-Man complete the mission, recruits will be able to see how many Spider-Bots they caught as a team in their vehicles.”

To keep wannabe superheroes sufficiently fuelled up, the area will also have a number of ‘all-new dining experiences’ to choose from, including Pym Kitchen, an ‘innovative science lab where food and drinks tell the story’, named after the Pym Particles that Ant-Man and The Wasp use to grow and shrink objects.

There’s also a quick-service restaurant called Stark factory serving up homemade pizzas, salads, fresh pasta and more, a WEB (or ‘Worldwide Eating Brigade’) food truck selling Asian noodles and coconut balls, the Fan-tastic Food Truck with hot dogs, vegan sausages and ‘cheesecake on a stick’, and a small traditional American restaurant named Super Diner.
