What is Evangelos Marinakis' net worth?

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has plenty of money to invest in the club, but how much is his net worth?

Nottingham Forest fans were surprised by how much money was being put into the club, with a huge amount of signings taking place in the transfer window.

Evangelos Marinakis has made plenty of investments in the club since he took over five years ago, but how much is he worth?

What is Evangelos Marinakis' net worth?

He became the main shareholder in Nottingham Forest in 2017, and is reportedly worth a massive £510 million.

However, some sources claim his net worth is actually nearer $3 billion, or £2.5 billion. That's quite the difference, but either way, he's rolling in money.

As well as Nottingham Forest, he also owns the Greek football team Olympiacos.

He made his fortune in media, and the mogul is also a shipowner and set up Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, where he still acts as chairman.

Somewhat surprisingly, he is also a lyricist and songwriter.

He has written lyrics for a Greek pop artist called Natassa Theodoridou, for her smash hit song ‘Excitement’ (‘Eksapsi’).

She released the song in February 2021, and it clocked up one million views on YouTube within the first six days of being released.

Marinakis' main residence is in Athens, but he also has an impressive house in London.

As you might expect of a multi-millionaire, he also owns two yachts, called Amore Mio and Amore Mio II.

He is married to Athanasia Marinakis and they have four children together.

He is also a philanthropist with his mega money, and is known for helping numerous Greek non-profit organizations.

The mogul recently promised to donate 80,000 euros per year to a museum devoted to the Greek poet Nikos Kazantzakis, for the first ten years.

Marinakis also arranged the UNDP Match Against Poverty in 2010, which raised more than $500,000 for the victims of the Haiti and Pakistan disasters.
