While critics might not have been big fans of the two Johnny English films, it certainly had a cult following of people who loved Rowan Atkinson's bumbling MI7 spy. Well, if you enjoyed the last two films, then you'll be very pleased that the trailer has just dropped for the third piece to the trilogy: Johnny English Strikes Again.
Atkinson will star alongside Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace, The Water Diviner), Ben Miller (Death in Paradise, Primeval) and Jake Lacy (How to Be Single, The Office) as he tackles his third mission.
English managed to save the day in Johnny English Reborn and had his knighthood reinstated. However, he cocks up everything when he mistakes the Queen for the killer cleaner and attacks her.
Unfortunately, that doesn't bode well for our protagonist as he winds up teaching at a minor prep school at the start of Strikes Again. But MI7 calls him in after a devious hacker reveals the identities of all undercover agents in the UK. The spy agency has no choice but to use him track down the person and make sure they don't do anymore damage.
It seems as though some fans are very excited for the third installment.
It's been seven years since we last saw Atkinson in Johnny English Reborn and a further 15 years since the original premiered.
While the franchise has been a hit with fans, critics haven't been as forgiving. The first film only got 33 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critical consensus saying: "A tame spy spoof that elicits infrequent chuckles."
The sequel got a bit better on the review aggregation website with 38 percent, but the critical review wasn't any less scathing: "Arguably a marginal improvement on its mostly-forgotten predecessor, Johnny English Reborn nonetheless remains mired in broad, tired spy spoofing that wastes Rowan Atkinson's once considerable comedic talent."
There was a lot of expectation for the spoof spy series after the actor cemented himself as a comedic genius in the Mr Bean series.
Rowan told Collider that his Johnny English character is a more difficult sell than his mute Mr Bean.

He said: "Johnny English is a little more complicated because he's a bit more verbal, but there's still very strong visual elements to him. And, I think the tone of the comedy is very similar.
"It's very simple and very accessible comedy. I'm afraid it's not very sophisticated."
Hopefully Johnny English Strikes Again bucks the trend of its first two films when it's released in the UK and US on 12 October this year.
