If I had to make a list of all my phobias, clowns would definitely top it. Why have you got make up on, mate? What are you hiding? Why do you like spending so much time with kids?
I can trace back where my coulrophobia comes from and it was definitely from watching Tim Curry in IT. My irresponsible parents let me watch that film when I was about seven and I remember absolutely shitting myself.
I've never got over that phobia of clowns, there's pictures of me with clowns when I'm about four (pre-IT) and I look happy enough. So, I think I can safely say it was IT, and more specifically Pennywise, that gave me that phobia.
Anyway, 20 years later and I'm mostly over it, until now, because Entertainment Weekly have released the first pictures of Bill Skarsgård as the new Pennywise and fuuuck, he looks scary.

If you haven't seen the film, IT is based on a Stephen King book. It's about a demonic creature, in the form of a clown, who likes to kill kids. I won't give too much away, in case you haven't seen and fancy scaring yourself for life, too.

This clown seems to be going for a darker, creepier look than the original and I honestly hate looking at it already.
The new IT is out next year and I will absolutely not be going to see it.
