If you were a kid in the early 00s it's highly likely you grew watching the likes of Malcolm in the Middle and joyfully comparing thehi-jinks and quirks of your own family to Malcolm and his completely dysfunctional family.

It's safe to say it was a hit and it was really the first time we got to see Bryan Cranston in action before he stole our hearts in Breaking Bad - as for the rest of the actors it's hard to believe they're all grown up now, especially the family youngest, Dewey.

Dewey was the cutest member of the Wilkerson family and was only 14 when the series wrapped up in 2006 - 12 years on and the 27-year-old is definitely not the cheeky little boy he was all those years ago.

Back in the show he was a brilliant character - in short a bit of a sociopath with big ears, that always managed to get dragged into all sorts of mischief with his older brothers.

Erik Per Sullivan is the man behind the character and has been pretty quiet on the acting front since the 2010 B-list film Twelve.

An exciting moment came when Erik posted a photo on his Instagram of him and his former Malcolm in the Middle co-star, Justin Berfield - who played the second brother Reese on the show - sat behind the scenes of a film Justin was producing.

But that was back in 2016 - it's kind of pretty up in the air what Erik is actually getting up to these days since he retired from acting after his last whirl in front of a camera.

Even with all these changes he'll always be the adorable and mischievous little brother of Malcolm and the second youngest son of Bryan Cranston's character Hal.

Hal was a very different character than people got to know in Breaking Bad - Walter ended up being a bad-ass meth-maker, Hal was literally the polar opposite.

He was the bumbling, yet lovable, middle-aged dad - with the most frightening wife ever.
