Final Season Of Breaking Bad Is Voted The Greatest TV Season Of All Time

With awe-inspiring, cinematic and expansive TV shows like Game of Thrones, The Wire and The Sopranos to compete against, you have to be pretty damn good to be voted the greatest TV season of all time.

But Breaking Bad's last season has done just that, winning the Metacritic award with the tale of chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin the highest-rated show on the review-aggregator website.

One of the reasons the crazy and heartbreaking story of Walter White was so compelling was because of the shows moral ambiguities.

It was hard not to root for Walt, even as his motives became more and more complex, and his obnoxious pride got in the way of his decision making. This was also as the death toll rose to include those who were innocent - including his brother in law.

And creator Vince Gilligan wanted to be clear in communicating that Walt is not a man to be admired. By the end Walter has been broken bad, permanently, in what for many was the culmination of a flawless masterpiece.

By the end of the season there are no loose ends, and it would seem everyone gets what they deserve.

The White family will be taken care of by Walts money, which is given to the Schwartz's.Since they don't know they money came from Walt, they won't have a guilty conscience about it. Skyler is able to use information to get out of trouble with the DEA.

Jesse is freed from his meth-lab slave prison. The Nazis are executed. Lydia, gets her just desserts - a slow death from the hidden ricin. And Walter White has never given up on Jesse, dying while saving him.

And as Walter dies happy, you know he got both what he wanted and what he deserved.
