Comedians don't really come more controversial and outspoken than Frankie Boyle, which is why we were just as surprised as you when the BBC announced he will be presenting the next episode of Have I Got News For You.
The 43-year-old had beef with the show when he described it as 'everything that's wrong' with satire. It's because of this that Boyle himself admitted that he's 'as surprised as anyone' to be invited back for the first time since 2008.
Following that guest appearance eight years ago, team captain Paul Merton accused Boyle of 'underestimating the intelligence' of the HIGNFY audience, saying that they were brighter than those who watch Mock The Week.
Boyle understandably divides opinion. Ask one person down the pub and they'll hail him for constantly testing boundaries, while the next will probably tell you he's just an attention-seeking nobhead who goes too far.

One thing that is certain is with Boyle taking to the chair this Friday, it promises to be one of the most explosive and interesting episodes of Have I Got News For You for some time.
We thought we'd take a look at some of the most controversial moments in the Scotsman's career. These jokes will really make you realise what a risk the BBC has taken...
Love him or hate him, you're probably going to tune in.

Citizen Khan creator Adil Ray will also be on the show along with regular team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. The second guest is yet to be confirmed.
The BAFTA-winning show will return to BBC One at 9.30pm on Friday.
