Netflix'sNetflix's new horror show Marianne has only been streaming for a day but it's already scaring the s*** out of viewers. Watch the trailer here:

Binge-watching horror lovers have tuned in to the new French horror series and have not been left disappointed.

Released on Friday the 13th - when else? - the show consists of eight episodes and tells the story of a young writer named Emma (played by Victorie Du Bois), who finds that the characters she's been creating for her books are coming to life and causing all sorts of trouble.

One of these characters, Marianne (Mireille Herbstmeyer), has been featuring in Emma's nightmares since childhood and is now dead set on 'punishing' her.

It certainly has taken long to make an impact - the show has already been a big hit with Netflix users.

Taking to social media one person wrote: "I just started Marianne on Netflix. 10/10 would recommend, the first horror to ever make me have to close my eyes, first horror that made me paranoid and scared enough to cry, first horror to give me nightmares that woke me up every 30 minutes.

Marianne is on streaming on Netflix right now.

"You bet I'mma keep watching."

Another wrote: "Okay if you like horror, watch Marianne on Netflix. I f***ing screamed my lungs out. I am so mad."

While a third said: "I really enjoyed the first episode of the series Marianne. Hopefully it continues to be a very good horror series. I usually don't flinch while watching horror but this has some startling scenes."

Sounds good to me.

If you're interested, an official synopsis reads: "Lured back to her hometown, a famous horror writer discovers that the evil spirit who plagues her dreams is now wreaking havoc in the real world."

The show is available in a dubbed-English version or in the original French with English subtitles; it seems as though most people recommend sacking off the dubbed version and watching it with subtitles (unless you speak fluent French, of course).

The French show is seriously creeping out viewers.

Meanwhile, Netflix recommends that it's 'best watched with company and locked doors'.

If that's not enough horror for you, Netflix UK also dropped American Horror Story: Apocalypse in full for you to enjoy - so plenty to tide you over in the run-up to Halloween.

Marianne is available to stream on Netflix right now. Happy binging!
