They were films that changed the movie landscape forever, but rumour has it there could be a fourth Matrix movie on the horizon.

At least, that's according to the director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, who claims he has spoken with the directors behind the original trilogy, the Wachowskis.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, Stahelski - who also worked as the stunt double for Keanu Reeves in all three Matrix films - said: "I'm super happy that the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they're expanding what we all loved.

"And if it's anywhere near the level of what they've already done, it wouldn't take more than a call to go, 'Hey, we want you to be a stunt guy' and I would probably go and get hit by a car."

Reeves starred as Neo in the original three films.

He added: "And if they wanted help, I would absolutely put down whatever I was doing to help them."

And Stahelski isn't the only one who has committed themselves to starring in another Matrix movie, John Wick himself Keanu Reeves - who starred as Neo in the 1999 classic - told the press that he would jump at he chance.

But only on one condition.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, in 2017, he said: "They [the Wachowskis] would have to write it and direct it. And then we'd see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that'd be weird, but why not?"

He added: "People die, stories don't, people in stories don't."

Reeves and Stahelski have worked together for the past 20 years and their latest project, John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, rounds off another iconic action trilogy.

Reeves plays the hardened assassin, who, at the end of the previous film had a $14 million bounty put on his head.

He's now on the run from every would-be hitman/woman in the world - but if you've seen the first two movies you'll know that won't be easy.

In short, Wick is a killing machine and the Speed star is incredibly convincing. And thanks to clips released by weapons training experts at Taran Tactical Innovations we now know why.

To get in shape for the action-packed blockbuster, the 54-year-old - and co-star Halle Berry - trained with the company for months leading up to the film to get in shape.

They uploaded the videos to their YouTube channel showing what tricks the actor has up his sleeve when John Wick 3: Parabellum is released on May 16 (in the UK).

Don't mess with Reeves.
