Taron Egerton is set to star in a third Kingsman movie, which will wrap up the story of Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin and Harry Hart.

With plans to begin shooting later this year, Egerton will be back alongside Colin Firth's Harry in the third part of the trilogy which kicked off in 2014 with Kingsman: The Secret Service and continued in 2017 with The Golden Circle.

Taron Egerton will be back with Colin Firth for the new film, according to director Matthew Vaughn.

Confusingly the third movie in the trilogy will be released after The Great Game, the prequel due out next year, which is the third film in the franchise, but won't feature Egerton.

Speaking to Digital Spy, director Matthew Vaughn said that there would be a proper ending to the story about Eggsy and Harry.

He revealed: "We've got to finish off the Eggsy and Harry relationship. The final chapter of their relationship needs to be told, which we've got ready to do, and I'm hoping to shoot that later this year or the beginning of next year." Exciting, eh?

Vaughn also said the release date for The Great Game had been pushed back to February 14th.

"It's funny. As Taron was saying, he's looking forward to becoming Eggsy again, because emotionally it's a lot less draining," he said.

Taron Egerton recently starred as Elton John in Rocketman.

Egerton's return to the Kingsman franchise is sure to be good news for fans, who were left a bit gutted last year when the star said he wouldn't be in the latest film.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Egerton said: "I don't know how hot off the press this is, and I think I'm allowed to say it, but I'm not in the next Kingsman movie.

"That doesn't mean I won't be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew as little as a few days ago, we're still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn't involve me."

Egerton managed to keep himself busy, stepping into Elton John's platforms in the musical biopic Rocketman.

He was left teary-eyed after being given a standing ovation for his depiction of the legendary star and even Elton himself told the Sun: "Taron is beyond belief. It's like watching me. It's quite extraordinary, he's so me-like. He's a megastar."
