The First Trailer For Rick And Morty Season Four Has Dropped

It's been too long...

The first look at the hotly anticipated fourth series of Rick and Morty is finally here.

The good news is that the season will hit screens on Adult Swim on November 10, which isn't that far away, at least.

As the trailer states - it's been way too long.

Exactly as you would probably expect, the new series - of which all five (yes, only five) episodes are previewed in the trailer - features the titular pair, sociopathic scientist Rick and his dopey nephew Morty, getting into all kinds of psychedelic scrapes.

Oh, and Morty is going to turn into some sort of horrific vampire beast. So, there's that to look forward to.

Recently, the show's creator Dan Harmon bemoaned the fact that it has taken them so long to get things in shape for the new season. He told Entertainment Weekly: "I think it's safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons 3 and 4 will be the longest and last time that it's ever so long that it's ridiculous,

"I don't know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again. There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season 4, and it's really safe to say - as Justin says - we're literally writing season 5 while finishing season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule."

Harmon also left the door open to more episodes arriving unexpectedly and coming thick and fast. Which is interesting, given the five episode run we're getting here was supposed to be ten.

In that same Entertainment Weekly interview, producer Justin Roiland said: "This new season will be 10,

"We're rolling right into the next batch. The plan has always been to get them out quicker."

Well, it ain't but we could get more episodes sooner rather than later.

Harmon added: "Not to get anyone's hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we're going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time.

"Adult Swim can say, 'These are on time and great. Do you want to do more instead of taking a break?' And we can then do more. I'd like to see that day. Just knowing it's possible makes me eager for it. I feel like a naughty boy when I'm late."

Hey, if they wanna do that, people will watch it, that's for sure.
