Netflix has shared a teaser trailer for the final season of Top Boy.

The critically acclaimed show will be back for its last ever season in September. You can see the trailer here:

Season two dropped on Netflix last March with the streaming giant confirming that there would be a third and final season coming up soon after.

For now, plot details about the upcoming season are scarce, but Netflix has promised: “Now the stakes are at their highest and it’s time for the final reckoning.” Well, that sounds exciting, doesn’t it?

Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, Simbi Ajikawo, Jasmine Jobson, Saffron Hocking and Araloyin Oshunremi will all be reprising their roles for the new season, alongside newcomers Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson who will be playing Jonny and Tadgh.

In a statement announcing the third season back in March 2022, Netflix said: “Following the release of Top Boy season two on Netflix on 18th March 2022, the show quickly went to number 1 in the UK as audiences switched on to watch Jamie get out of prison and disrupt Dushane’s unrivalled rule of Summerhouse, and Sully emerge from his reclusive life to ride out for family.

Top Boy will be returning for a final season later this year.

“The finale of the season left fans with their jaws-dropping.

“Now the stakes are at their highest and it’s time for the final reckoning.”

In a statement, stars Walters and Robinson, who play Dushane and Sully, said: “For those that have followed the journey from the start, you will know how much this show means to everyone on our team and we wholeheartedly know how much it means to you.

“These characters have been a part of our lives for over a decade now and without everyone’s support we couldn’t have come this far.

“Whilst the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way.

Netflix

“With all this being said, and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale.

“A chance to come full circle and end the journey in the right way.

“We’re very excited about what’s next and thank you for riding with us.

“We appreciate you. See you again soon.”

Top Boy season one and two are available to stream on Netflix right now, while the third and final will land in September.
