The Inbetweeners Reunion Will Air On New Year's Day

Can anyone think of a better start to the year or what?

How many times have you binged on The Inbetweeners during a hungover Sunday afternoon knowing it's the only thing to push how you feel into the green, well amber because, who are we kidding?

Anyway, we have got a treat for your first hangover of the year because on New Year's Day The Inbetweeners will reunite for a two-hour long special. We can feel our headaches subsiding already.

If you didn't realise how much you would miss seeing that old Fiat Cinquecento or yearn to hear Jay's bullshit just one more time then look no further - we're sure they're pulling out all the stops.

The New Year treat will arrive to mark the tenth anniversary of the show and all of the comedy gold it brought. Yes, it was a decade ago that we were introduced to the insult 'briefcase wanker'.

Fans are clearly excited for the comeback with one tweeting: "The Inbetweeners comeback - the famous four get back together to celebrate a decade since the comedy first aired."

Another added: "Honestly so excited for The Inbetweeners Christmas special." AS. ARE. WE.

The cast members have been teasing us about a reunion for a while now. James Buckley posted a picture of the four on Instagram with the comment: "#Inbetweeners."

It first we thought it was just bollocks (as per), turns out we should have trusted him all along. What a LAD.

We had pretty much given up all hope last year when Will, sorry, Simon Bird poured cold water on the idea of another series - or film. He told the Guardian: "Yep, I can confirm The Inbetweeners is over.

"[The films were] a massive surprise. Then again, every step of the way with The Inbetweeners was a surprise.

"I can't emphasis enough how small that show seemed. It was the first sitcom E4 ever made, with a shoestring budget, first-time writers and a first-time cast."

But co-executive producer, Will Macdonald, said: "The love for The Inbetweenersis huge, the kind of love that Jay would boast he's had many times - big celebrities, millions of viewers and loving fans from across the globe.

"And it's so exciting the boys will be back together to feel that love from all those people and enjoy it first-hand. What could possibly go wrong?"

It's official, The Inbetweeners will be back on our screens for New Year's Day.
The Inbetweeners Movie

We feel like it was inevitable that something would come from the guys again especially considering the three series were so popular that two films were made off the back - and they too were massively successful as well.

When it was released in 2011, The Inbetweeners Movie became the highest grossing British comedy movie of all time and even the second film - which let's be honest, wasn't a patch on the first - was still a box office hit.

Now, have we got time to binge the entire show again in time for New Year's Day? Course we have.
