The trailer for Cameron Diaz's new film Back in Action is here, her first movie in a decade.

Following her role in 2014's Annie, the Charlie's Angels actress made the abrupt decision to step away from the limelight after a stellar career in Hollywood and focus on raising her family.

However no retirement in Hollywood is permanent and a decade later Diaz has decided to team-up with Annie co-star Jamie Foxx for a spy-action thriller.

Debuting on Netflix in the new year, Back in Action sees Diaz and Foxx star as former CIA spies Emily and Matt, who are reluctantly pulled back into the espionage game after their secret identities are exposed.

The trailer promises explosive fun, as Emily and Matt juggle fighting off the 'bad guys' alongside explaining their true identities to their bewildered children.

Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson also feature in the film. Horrible Bosses' Seth Gordon has co-written and directed the feature.

Meanwhile, Foxx previously revealed during an interview with Entertainment Tonight how he persuaded Diaz to come out of retirement and join the project, explaining that he sold it to her as a 'fun' project.

"Cameron is such an incredible force and she has done so much in this business," he said.

"We love her. So it was literally, 'Do you wanna have some fun? Just have some fun!' And I think that's what brought her to it."

He continued: "We miss special moments sometimes in our business, and I think this is a special moment.

"So we're so happy that it's happening and looking forward to it."

Back in Action will be available on Netflix from 17 January 2025.
