Superfan begs cast and crew of the Cornetto Trilogy to feature a Cornetto in fourth film

The fan made her plea after Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg said their next movie would not feature a Cornetto

A superfan of Edgar Wright's iconic Cornetto Trilogy proved that a fourth film was entirely possible after teaming up with the makers of the ice cream themselves.

Ever since the first 'Cornetto' movie, Shaun of the Dead, arrived in 2004, fans have been desperate for more.

Along with co-writer Simon Pegg and actor Nick Frost, Wright obliged a couple of times over the years with Hot Fuzz and The World's End, both of which worked with the first movie to create what's now known as the Cornetto Trilogy.

In case you weren't aware, the trilogy is not linked through recurring characters or storylines, but instead simply by their references to the delicious, timeless Cornetto ice cream.

It's been more than a decade since the final film of the trilogy arrived in 2013, but fans were quick to get their hopes up about a Cornetto Quadrilogy when news emerged that Pegg and Wright were working together on a new film.

Unfortunately, those hopes were quickly dashed, like a Cornetto being dropped upside down on the ground, when the pair announced that the new movie would not feature one of the ice creams. Needless to say, this caused outrage - so much so that TikToker Ailish Morrison decided to make a reaction video to vent her frustration.

As it turns out, that video took off and caught the attention of Cornetto itself, who decided to help Ailish to try and prove her point that Wright and Pegg's new film could definitely be Cornetto-worthy.

A follow-up TikTok from superfan Ailish shows her filming a range of scenes with the help of Cornetto in an effort to prove that the ice creams can fit in just about anywhere; from a scene with a chilling scream to a nice day out in the park.

The TikToker hasn't yet heard back from Wright, Pegg or Frost on her efforts to get a Cornetto into the fourth film, but she pointed out that Wright did 'reference a quad-rilogy' during an appearance at the British Film Industry, so she remains optimistic.

"Surely there's a way we can sneak it into the next film," she said - though if not, she's called for 'free ice cream' for Wright, Pegg and co-star Nick Frost.

Other TikTok users have joined in sharing Ailish's love for the trilogy, with one fan writing: "I remember going to the back to back screening of all three films with The World's End starting at midnight.

"My friend and I bought a six pack of Cornettos and ate one at the point of each film where the Cornetto got its mention. By film three they were liquid shots of Cornetto though [laughing face]."

With the other film fans behind her Ailish is still hopeful the quadrilogy will happen, but for now she'd just be satisfied with an answer on whether a Cornetto will appear or not.

For now it seems like we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe an ice cream would help pass the time?
