Final Destination death that's most likely to happen in real life

Let's just hope it's one of the less brutal deaths

A law firm has worked out the most likely death you could experience from the Final Destination franchise - and it's not good news.

The cult classic horror is currently set to drop on Netflix from this weekend (3 August) and what better way to celebrate the film's arrival on streaming then finding out which of the harrowing deaths you're most likely to experience.

In case you've forgotten - or were too young to experience it first time around - 2000's Final Destination kick started a franchise which will leave you weary of every traffic jam/airplane/rollercoaster.

Fortunately, the more dramatic deaths in the films - such as getting trapped in a burning tanning bed or being cut in half by flying barbed wire - are unlikely to happen, but the film does feature some brutal deaths which could very much occur in real life.

So if you're hoping to meet your maker by peacefully drifting away in your sleep you may want to look away.

US-based law firm Downtown LA Law has managed to do the research on the top five most likely death scenarios in the whole Final Destination franchise.

Ladder related incidents

After analysing over 300,000 emergency hospital visits across the US, Downtown Law revealed that 4,162 people suffered from ladder-related injuries in the US since 2019.

Which means that out of all the Final Destination deaths, Evan Lewis' 'ladder-through-the-eye' death is the most likely scenario.

Death by fence

Now a fence may seem like a safe item for someone looking to avoid death, however, the innocuous boundary tool can actually cause a whole world of pain, with 2,121 hospital visits coming from scaling a fence.

Death by fence occurs in the lesser known Final Destination 5, where one unlucky soul is cut in half by a chain link fence.

Fatal weight lifting injuries

Getting injured at a gym may seem like something that should be higher up the list, because of the fact that you're surrounded by enough heavy weights to crush yourself with.

Around 930 in the US have ended up in the hospital due to weightlifting injuries - which proves that good form in the gym is crucial.

Let's just hope those visits were from overdoing it on leg day and not getting your head crushed weights while you're mid-workout.

Being scolded by oil

One to keep an eye out for if you work around cars, as 335 instances of hospital visits came from getting scolded by hot oil.

This grisly occurrence happens during the fifth movie, when a truck accident causes oil to spill everywhere.

Lawn mower injuries

Rounding out the top five list are lawn mower injuries, with 229 accidents occurring when someone is cutting grass. Although we'd imagine that any injury you'd sustain wouldn't be as outlandish as Samantha getting a rock through the eye courtesy of a nearby lawnmower.

Other honourable mentions on the list include: shot with nail gun (160 accidents), escalator malfunctions (211 accidents) and barbecue burns (10 accidents).

Of course, the one death that is burnt into everyone's brain is the famous log collision from Final Destination 2 - and one man somehow managed to walk away from an eerily similar situation last year.
