The shortlist to become the newest 007 is reportedly down to a final four for the actor who will star in the upcoming reboot which will be helmed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve.
Previous reports had revealed that the next James Bond was down to a supposed final six for screen tests, with Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, and Jacob Elordi reported to be amongst the frontrunners.
Elordi was then said to be the final choice for the role in a report from The InSneider earlier this week, but a new report has come out with a final four which does not include Elordi, leaving the chances incredibly unlikely. This was then confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter who have said that neither Elordi nor Jack O'Connell are testing for the role.
Deadline’s Justin Kroll has released an exclusive report which says that the final four is set to go through screen tests next week. These were planned for earlier in the month however, due to scheduling conflicts, they were pushed to the end of the month to ensure they happen at the same time.

The new James Bond film will be the first since the franchise was taken over by Amazon MGM, with casting director Nina Gold, director Denis Villeneuve, and producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman the ones to have made the decision to narrow down the search.
Kroll has reported that the choices are down to Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Josh O’Connor, and one ‘mystery choice’ who has not yet been revealed. The fourth mystery option however is unlikely to be the Australian Euphoria man. There is no news regarding when the decision will be made and announced, though it is thought that it will be revealed before the end of the year.
Lowden has been widely considered to be the favourite for the role off the back of his performance as River Cartwright in Slow Horses, with fans online seeing the role as an almost audition from the Scottish actor.

His wife Saoirse Ronan spoke out about the rumours after his Slow Horses co-star Gary Oldman appeared to unwittingly confirm he'd got the role, denying that it is a done deal but stating she's not overly bothered by rumours. Ronan told Associated Press: "Well, Gary Oldman thinks he’s James Bond... [That’s] its own thing. We’re kind of getting on with our life, to be honest. We have plenty of other things to be dealing with. So, yeah, it’s not really a subject that’s coming up in our house, to be honest."
Elordi himself has previously spoken about the rumours he had made the six man shortlist to play the part, telling Extra TV of the rumours: "That’s beautiful… I just like that people maybe want to put me in their movies. That makes me really glad."
Villeneuve will be directing the first Bond film of the new era off the back of his record-breaking Dune: Part Three, which broke pre-sale records for IMAX when it released its tickets earlier this week.
