Danny Dyer's acting renaissance continues in One Last Deal, which takes place entirely in one location

The first trailer for Danny Dyer’s newest film, One Last Deal, has been released.

The film stars Dyer as an ‘old school football agent’ looking to get his star client one last big payday before his life comes tumbling down.

Dyer is continuing his renaissance as a cult actor in the UK, having won his first-ever BAFTA last year for Mr Bigstuff.

One Last Deal is directed by Brendan Muldowney and features Dyer as the only on-screen actor, with other actors appearing over the phone or on his TV.

One Last Deal is billed as a ‘fast-paced, pressure-cooker thriller’ and sees Banks locked up in just the one location, his office.

The football agent is frantically trying to get his star player, Jerome Sweet, a move to Real Madrid before his part in another of his client’s controversies, Matt Gravish, is revealed.

When he is threatened by an anonymous call from someone claiming to be able to decide ‘how the rest of his life’ will go, Banks begins to unravel.

Speaking to Variety when the film was announced, Dyer described it as being ‘like his Hamlet’, saying: “Shooting [One Last Deal] in Ireland has been an incredible experience so far – even if most of my time is spent locked in Jimmy Banks’ office.

“Jimmy’s a character who’s juggling chaos, but there’s so much depth to him — this is a very rare opportunity as an actor to be the only performer in a film. In a way, I feel like it’s my Hamlet.

“It’s a brilliant, clever piece and I’m very proud to be part of it.”

Director Brendan Muldowney said of the film: “It is a funny, thrilling and surprisingly moving, adrenaline-fuelled story, and James ‘Jimmy’ Banks is one of the best characters I’ve ever read in a script.

“One actor, one location thrillers are incredibly intense and I can’t wait to work with Danny on bringing ‘Jimmy Banks’ to life in all his glory.”

Dyer has managed to change his image as an actor in recent years, fighting stereotypes of him only playing a ‘hard man’ in an interview that went viral.

The Londoner suggested that this image was actually a result of classism, saying in an interview with The Sunday Times: “It goes back to classism and the way I speak.

“I've never claimed to be a hard man. I've never really played a hard man. I wore a pink dressing gown in EastEnders for nine years, a very sensitive soul."

"OK, The Football Factory was about hooligans and there was violence, but I was questioning it.”

In One Last Deal, Dyer looks set to continue to prove perceptions wrong about him.

One Last Deal releases in cinemas on 13 March 2026.
