Stephen King is widely regarded as the 'King of Horror' so if he recommends a movie to watch, it's probably worth adding it to your list.
The 74-year-old is the author behind classic hide-behind-the-sofa stories such as The Shining, IT and Pet Sematary, so he certainly knows how to raise a reader's blood pressure.
One of the American author's novels was in fact so controversial that he eventually had all of its copies pulled from shelves, but when he's not busy writing horror stories, it's clear he loves sitting down and watching one, even if it's a guaranteed way to raise your heart rate.
He's made some recommendations to horror fans in the past but one coming out next month has clearly caught his eye, as he called it 'special' in a recent social media post.

On X, he wrote: "There's a movie coming on Shudder in October called THE CYCLE. I don't usually pump up horror movies (unless they are mine, haha), but this is special. Put it on your calendar."
The Cycle is a film by Jordan Downey which tells the story of a daughter who learns that the body of her estranged father has turned up at a murder scene, 36 years after he first went missing.

Starring Deborah Ann Woll as the daughter, she then seeks to uncover the truth about her father's death and encounters a menacing evil in the process.
Naturally, given how popular King is in the world of horror, there were plenty of people in his replies who were promising to watch it when it comes out in October.
"Noted," one user said, while another chimed in: "I haven't had the chance to check September horror streaming list (as I'm still in work week mode), but I'll definitely be checking this one out! Thanks Steven King!"
A third shared: "I’ll only watch it , since you recommended it," and a fourth added: "I love horror movies! I've seen your movies and enjoyed them thoroughly. I've not heard of this one tho. I'll have to look for this one. Thank you for mentioning this new movie."
You can watch the trailer below, but be warned, it's pretty scary:
James Harris of the film production company Tea Shop previously expressed his excitement about Downey's work on the highly-anticipated movie.
"We are so excited about The Cycle; Jordan has crafted such an original story that is gonna excite audiences. For us he has the ability to be the next great genre filmmaker and we can’t wait to make the movie," Harris said.
Downey was also pretty happy to hear that King is recommending his work, as he took to instagram to celebrate that personal win.
He wrote: "There is not a time in my life where Stephen King wasn’t present, influencing every single facet of my upbringing. So to see the Master of Horror commenting on a movie I directed — one that @kevinstewartdp and I wrote as a love letter to his work — is almost impossible to comprehend. I am so lucky."
