The Goonies cast is full of huge stars but Corey Feldman’s life took a bizarre turn
When looking at child stars in an ensemble film, it is hard to argue that any film other than The Goonies was more successful at creating A-List stars.
The film released in 1985 and focuses on a young group of kids faced with their last days together as a group when they find evidence of a pirate’s treasure.
Amongst the cast were multiple now-household names, including Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin, Oscar nominee and MCU star Josh Brolin, as well as Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan.
At the time, however, the arguably biggest star in the film was Corey Feldman, with the child actor having also appeared in Gremlins, and even went on to star in Stand By Me and The Lost Boys, with Brolin, Astin, and to a certain extent Quan not coming to the height of their fame until years later.

To have amassed this kind of filmography by the time you’re 15, many would have expected Feldman to become one of the all-time acting greats.
Unfortunately, however, Feldman’s life has taken a fairly bizarre, and in some cases tragic, turn.
Feldman struggled with alcohol and substance abuse, being arrested in 1990 for possession of heroin and later attending rehab.
He has also alleged that he was sexually abused as a child in industry, claiming he is a survivor of child sexual abuse on multiple occasions. Feldman has himself been the subject of serious allegations, including that he ran a cult.
The actor appeared on several reality shows, but his 2015 appearance on Celebrity Wife Swap raised serious concerns when he began discussing ‘Corey’s Angels’.
Feldman started this ‘business venture’ when he met girls at the Playboy Mansion who told him they had ambitions to act and work in the music industry.
He stated that the Angels began with ‘women he was dating’, saying he was a ‘playboy’ in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Feldman explained: “A lot of the girls that I was dating, you know, were all kind of telling me the same thing, which is like, hey, I have this passion for art, or, you know, I’m a musician, I’m a singer, I’m an actress.
"But a lot of them were selling themselves short.”
In Celebrity Wife Swap, it was alleged that the women signed a contract in which they had to agree to maintain their current weight and have a meat-free diet, though he claims this was ‘made up for reality TV’ by producers.
He said they provided ‘360 management, development and production entity’, and looked for women who were ‘virtuous, and honest and loyal’.
A documentary Corey Feldman vs. the World alleged that this group was a 'cult', stating that he exerted extreme psychological control over the women involved.
One woman alleged he had ‘abused, sexually harassed and taken advantage of them’.
Feldman continues to appear at various fan conventions and produce new music, appearing on Dancing with the Stars last year.
