Tom Hanks has revealed the one ‘painful’ scene of his that he can’t stand to watch, admitting he’ll ‘leave the room’ before it comes on.
The 69-year-old star has an enviable career with iconic roles in movies such as Forrest Gump, Philadelphia, and as the voice behind Woody in Toy Story.
However, even with such an impressive resume, there’s one scene that Hanks still can’t bear to watch.
Speaking on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Hanks admitted that he generally doesn’t re-watch his movies after the first time, because they ‘never change’.

But he went on to say that there’s one particular scene he ‘cannot watch’, and it’s from the 2000 classic Cast Away.
Hanks lost an incredible amount of weight to play Chuck, a FedEx worker who ended up stranded on a remote island for years.

Prior to him ending up on the island, Chuck’s partner Kelly (played by Helen Hunt) - who he plans to marry - gives him her grandfather's watch, which has a photo of her in it.
But before the pair can get hitched, he ends up marooned on the island with only a volleyball named Wilson for company.
Eventually, Chuck is rescued and is finally reunited with Kelly, but learns that she has sine gone on to get married.
And it’s one of these later scenes that Hanks still can’t bring himself to watch.
"There is a moment that is painful for me in Cast Away," he said.
“Chuck is back in Kelly's house, and he gives her [the] watch back, and there's a moment where I just think, ‘I'm not there.' . . . I do this gesture that I just think is false, and is me and is not Chuck.

“If the movie is on, I will get up and leave the room before that scene comes on.”
When asked if he was aware he was messing up the scene at the time of filming, he replied: “It wasn't until I actually saw it when it went down. And I think that, ‘Oh, we were just moving on there and I wasn't there.' ”
Despite Hanks not being delighted with the final cut, Cast Away was a huge success, raking in 429 million at the box office and becoming the third biggest movie of the year.
Hanks was also nominated for the Oscar for best actor for the role of Chuck - so maybe that one scene wasn’t as bad as he thinks.
