James Bond fans have named their ‘better’ choice for 007 as a British actor has been ‘formally offered’ the legendary role.

Yep, after what’s felt like years of speculation of who will play the next Bond, James Bond, it seems like we finally have an answer.

There’s been plenty of rumours over the years, from talk that Idris Elba would play the agent or Cillian Murphy to the likes of Henry Cavill or Rege-Jean Page stepping into Bond’s shoes.

Plus, there was talks of us even getting the first female Bond with Emilia Clarke and Emily Blunt both being rumoured.

But reports now claim that Daniel Craig’s successor will be Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Look, it’s not been officially announced that the 33-year-old will be playing 007 but The Sun reports he has ‘been formally offered the opportunity to play James Bond’.

Taylor-Johnson is known for the likes of Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla, and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

A source stated: "Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.

"As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement."

However, while there’s now a lot of buzz around the bloke, fans can’t help but rant about who they think they would suit the iconic role.

And, somewhat unsurprisingly, it’s one of the actors whose name was being thrown around the rumour mill.

Many users wrote on X: “James Norton should be Bond.”

It does seem like a lot of fans were hoping the Happy Valley star would be swapping his last name over for that of the iconic character.

Others reacted to the news of Taylor-Johnson by posting: “What! Not James Norton…”

And some are even still insisting while they wait for the official announcement: “New James Bond gonna get announced soon. Who would you expect?

“I reckon ‘James Norton’ is a high possibility.”

With another saying: “James Norton should be James Bond. ATJ is still Kickass age in my head for some reason.”

In a previous interview, Norton told The Andrew Marr Show that the rumours of him being the next bond is ‘a blessing and a curse’.

Many fans, however, do say Taylor-Johnson is an ‘excellent choice’ for the role and that ‘he’s going to bloody nail it’.

"Aaron Taylor Johnson could be a really good James Bond, hope this is true," one fan wrote.

"Why not Aaron Taylor Johnson would be good as James Bond," a second chimed, whilst a third agreed: "Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a quality shout. Look at his back catalogue. Some boy him."

What do you think?
