The fourth season of the award-winning Netflix series, Stranger Things, was released on the streaming platform this week. 

The previous seasons of the sci-fi horror show have been hugely popular with viewers, with season three being watched in 64 million households within the first four weeks of its release.

Since the show’s premiere in 2016, its popularity has sky-rocketed the careers of its predominantly teenage cast. Pertinently, Stranger Things propelled the then eleven year old Millie Bobby Brown to stardom. The then thirteen year old Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler is no different. Wolfhard was similarly inexperienced as an actor when he was cast on the show, however he has remained a prominent character in Stranger Things, over its four seasons. 

Now nineteen, the Canadian actor and musician has grown up in front of viewers eyes and has been very successful along the way.

According to internet sources, Wolfhard’s current net worth is $4 million. It is also reported that the nineteen year old earns an enormous $250,000 per episode of Stranger Things. 

Wolfhard mainly acquired this wealth through his success on the Netflix show however, he is also a musician and has been the face of popular brands, including Yves Saint Laurent.

Separate from his acting, Wolfhard was the lead singer of the Canadian rock-band, ‘Calpurnia’ for two years and he is now a member of the Alternative/ Indie band ‘The Aubreys’. The latter released their debut track in 2020 and have amassed over 90,000 monthly listeners on Spotify since. 

Wolfhard is evidently popular with viewers as he has accrued over 21 million followers on Instagram (at the time of writing). 

In an interview for Apple, Wolfhard suggested that the new season of Stranger Things is “scarier” and is “going to freak people out a lot”. He also explained that “the Duffer Brothers are doing things that people haven’t seen before in the show”.
