Netflix has dropped a one-minute teaser for Mike Flanagan’s spooky new show, and it’s set to be a bona fide bone-chiller. Watch below:

Flanagan is best known for terrifying Netflix hits The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, and his new show, The Midnight Club, promises to be just as scary.

The premise? The Midnight Club is set in a hospice and follows a group of young adults living with terminal illnesses who convene at the witching hour to tell spooky stories.

The group makes a pact to try and contact the first of them to succumb to their illness from beyond the grave, and needless to say, all hell (quite literally) breaks loose.

Flanagan co-created the show with Leah Fong and the new teaser introduces us to the members of The Midnight Club.

Flanagan is set to direct the first two episodes.

The show is based on Christopher Pike’s book of the same name, and Flanagan fans were beyond excited to finally get eyeballs on his new project, with many sharing rave reviews on Twitter.

“In Mike Flanagan we trust! Can't wait to witness another masterpiece,” gushed one social media user.

“I am soooo excited for this!” added another, with a third penning: “Oh a new Flanagan series for my birthday!? You didn't need Netflix, so kind of you.”

A fourth Twitter user added: “I’m in for anything Mike Flanagan,” and a fifth echoed: “Absolutely watching if it’s from Mike Flanagan.”

The Midnight Club stars Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Cymone, Williams Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Heather Langenkamp and will hit Netflix on 7 October.

The show was first announced back in 2020 by Variety and tweeting about The Midnight Club at the time, Flanagan said: “I began brainstorming an adaptation of THE MIDNIGHT CLUB as a teenager, so this is a dream come true. It’s an honour to introduce a new generation of young horror fans to the world of Christopher Pike.

“Oh, and for you fellow Pike fans out there… the article is correct, we will be incorporating a lot of his books into the series. So whatever your favourite Pike book is, there’s a chance it’ll be part of the show.”

The Midnight Club is scheduled to premiere on October 7, 2022.
