This weekend, the Irish were impossible to ignore! From Maura Higgins dazzling at the Brit Awards to Fontaines DC taking home another trophy, and Ralph Fiennes considering a move to Cork, it was all happening. Let’s dive into the top Irish showbiz moments of the weekend!

Fontaines DC & Maura Higgins Dominate the Brit Awards

Hold onto your pints, folks, because the Irish took over the Brit Awards this weekend, and I’m absolutely here for it! Leading the charge was none other than our very own Maura Higgins, who graced the red carpet looking like a Celtic goddess descended from the heavens.

Maura strutted onto the Brit Awards red carpet in a sheer black “naked dress” that left just enough to the imagination—though let’s be honest, not much. The delicate floral accents tried their best to play modesty police, but even they looked like they were clinging on for dear life. One thing’s for sure; heads were turning, jaws were dropping and somewhere else in the world, Pete Wicks was probably crying into his Weetabix! Honestly, if looks could kill, we'd all be goners.

While Maura was busy stealing the spotlight, Dublin's own Fontaines DC were busy collecting some serious hardware. The lads snagged the award for International Group of the Year, marking their second win in this category. They couldn't make it to the ceremony (busy rocking out in Australia), but they sent a heartfelt message expressing their surprise and gratitude.

So, let's raise a glass of the black stuff to Maura and Fontaines DC for reminding everyone that when it comes to style and talent, the Irish are in a league of their own. Sláinte!

Ralph Fiennes Returning to Cork – Time to Teach Voldemort How to Pour a Pint!

Word on the streets of Cork is that the illustrious Ralph Fiennes—yes, Voldemort himself—is eyeing a return to his ancestral roots in West Cork. Apparently, the Fiennes family once called the charming abode "Cois Cuain" (which, let's be honest, sounds like a spell from Hogwarts) their home.

Ralph's father, Mark Fiennes, a photographer with an eye for both art and a good pint, raised his brood of talented offspring in this very spot. It's said that the Fiennes children ran wild across the West Cork landscape, perhaps practicing their future dramatic monologues on unsuspecting sheep.

Now, as Ralph contemplates a return to the Emerald Isle, I can't help but think of ways to make his transition smoother than a pint of Guinness. First off, the name—Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes is a mouthful even for the King. Might I suggest Ralph O'Finnegan? Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

And let's not forget the essentials: a crash course in GAA, mastering the art of the Irish goodbye, and perfecting the phrase "Sure, it'll be grand" for all occasions. With these skills, Ralph will be as Irish as our Lord and Saviour Marty Morrissey himself. Time to swap ‘Slytherin’ for a ‘Sliotar’ boy!

Damien Broderick Pops the Question in the Sweetest Way!

Irish influencer Damien Broderick has announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Corinne. Damien, renowned for his classic menswear fashion inspiration and modelling snapshots, has amassed a significant following on social media platforms.

The engagement was revealed through a heartfelt Instagram post, where Damien wrote: "It's Saturday. Let's get engaged... I've turned a million pages in life, but writing our own story has been the most beautiful adventure yet. Today, I asked for forever..."

In a YouTube video, Damien shared the proposal journey, which included a scavenger hunt leading Corinne to significant locations before the final proposal. He also detailed the creation of the engagement ring, crafted from rings given by Corinne's mother that belonged to her grandmother.

The couple's announcement has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and followers, celebrating their joyous news. Thanks for this Damien! What’s wrong with a spice bag and a promise? Now we all need to step our game up thanks to you!
