A trailer has been released for a new PlayStation 5 game starring a mystery-solving cat, and it's safe to say people are pretty excited about it. Check it out:

Sony managed to cram a hell of a lot in during its big unveiling of its new console.

Not only did we finally get to see what the fifth major console from the video gaming franchise will look like, but we also saw a few games that will be released over the coming months.

A trailer premiered for Stray, which sadly didn't give us any gameplay footage, but it certainly gave us enough to pique our interest. The game was developed by BlueTwelve and is published by Annapurna Interactive.

The latter released a statement explaining what we can expect, which said: "Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly.

"Players will play as a stray cat, roaming surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures.

"Lost, alone and separated from family, players must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity and find the way home."

There are some serious Love, Death and Robots vibes from the trailer - it shows a cat walking through a robot-filled future world.

But one bit of the footage that really got fans talking was the fact that the cat gets to wear a mini backpack throughout the game. It's not clear if the game will be an open-world, GTA-style video game or whether it will be more traditional.

The game is set for release in 2021, however a more specific date hasn't been set.

If you want to see more of the PlayStation 5 then you've come to the right place.

What do you think about the design? It's certainly a departure from the PlayStation 4 console, which was a lot more angular. At the same time, it still has that sleek vibe that screams 'PlayStation'.

Sony also confirmed a handful of features for the new console - most of which we've already known about for some time. The console packs a 4K UHD Blu-Ray drive, custom AMD GPU, and very impressive SSD that's said to massively reduce loading times. The console also comes with an impressive 10.28 Teraflops of GPU power, which is just shy of the Xbox Series X's 12 Teraflops.

What we didn't know before was that the PlayStation 5 will come in both disc and digital-only models. This isn't much a surprise, given that we seem to be heading towards a disc-less future, but it's cool that Sony gave us the option here.

Unfortunately, we still have no idea exactly how much the console will cost, which is... a shame. We can probably assume the model without a disc-drive will cost a little bit less, but until we hear official word from Sony on pricing we have no way of knowing for sure. Still, we now know exactly what the PlayStation 5 looks like after a very long road.
