Grand Theft Auto VI isn't due to release until next year but you can get a slice of it on your console now if you so desire as a piece of it has been made available for download.
With GTA 6 not out for another 11 months or so, the piece of it you do get is nothing more than a little bit of artwork which you've probably seen already.
Earlier this year, we were treated to the disappointing news that the much awaited next entry in Rockstar's famous franchise would be getting a later release date than expected.

We'd been hoping that the next GTA would land in Autumn 2025, but instead it is currently pencilled in for 26 May, 2026, otherwise known as about 11 months away.
However, some players are able to pre-load a little bit of the game right now, though given that all it takes is downloading a file less than half a gigabyte in size you shouldn't expect anything playable.
If you're on an Xbox Series X/S then you can pre-load this little snipped of GTA 6, but you just get one look at a piece of artwork and that's it.

It's not even available for pre-order at the moment so the chances of you getting anything playable are likely to be a distant dream for quite some time.
Think about it, GTA 6 is likely to be one of the most gargantuan downloads your internet connection has ever been forced to make, it's going to be f**king armageddon as you delete a bunch of other games to make space for it.
Just over 300MB and you get to see the box art, that's about it, it's going to be a drop in the ocean compared to the game itself.
Of course, with the game not even available to pre-order at this point the questions of exactly when you can get GTA 6 and how much it'll cost you aren't exactly set in stone.
The release date has already moved around and while we're crossing our fingers hoping it won't be put back any further, it's always a possibility.

Rockstar said they were 'very sorry that this is later than you expected' when they announced the date change, explaining that 'we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.'
Then there's how much moolah it'll extract from your bank account to own a copy of the game, big games are getting more and more expensive.
The official price for GTA 6 has yet to be revealed but there are gamers holding their breath and dreading the possibility that it might be a very expensive purchase.
GTA 6 is currently scheduled to release for the Xbox Series X/S and the PS5 on 26 May, 2026. A PC release is expected later.
