Harvard declares Jennifer Coolidge as 'Woman of the Year' and throws parade in her honour

Harvard declares Jennifer Coolidge as 'Woman of the Year' and throws parade in her honour

The White Lotus actor was bestowed the honour by the third oldest theatre organisation in the world.

Jennifer Coolidge has been named Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals.

CBS News reported that The White Lotus actor was bestowed the honour over the weekend by the third oldest theatre organisation in the world.

And, to celebrate the incredible achievement, they threw her a parade through the streets of Cambridge.

Everyone’s favourite aunt did not disappoint and donned an animal print coat with a fluffy pink hat for extra finesse.

WNBC reported that the actor even got emotional at one point and wished her father had been here to see this.

“I’ve been so blown away that this experience is happening. I never saw it coming. It blows away any sort of movie or television show I have ever done,” she said.

“Seriously, my dad went here. I wish he was here. His brothers went here and everything, so it’s a big deal.”

Producer Sarah Mann added: "It is an absolute dream for us to honour Jennifer Coolidge as our Woman of the Year on the heels of her recent accolades for The White Lotus.

"We know our Pudding Pot will look phenomenal alongside her new Golden Globe, and we swear we won't whisk her away to a palazzo in Palermo!"

The celebrations come as Reece Witherspoon revealed that Coolidge would return as nail technician Paulette Bonafonté in the highly awaited Legally Blonde 3.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Witherspoon said: “There is no Legally Blonde 3 without Jennifer Coolidge.”

The original film, released in 2001, followed Elle Woods (played by Witherspoon), a sorority girl who enrols in Harvard Law School after her boyfriend breaks up with her.

We have no doubt the third flick will catch us up to speed with the pink-loving dog advocate and her career as a successful lawyer.

Legally Blonde 3 was confirmed in 2018 and was meant to be released on Valentine's Day in 2020.

However, like many film and TV projects in the pipeline, coronavirus slowed it down, and the release date was pushed to May 2020 and then May 2022.

Legally Blonde 3 will now be released sometime this year.

Along with Witherspoon and Coolidge, Luke Wilson will also be reprising the role of Emmett in the third film.

Start warming up those bends and snaps, people!
