Milly Alcock says extras who just met were '69-ing for 12 hours' in latest episode

Milly Alcock also said filming a kissing scene with House of the Dragon co-star Matt Smith wasn't awkward

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR HOUSE OF THE DRAGON

House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock has revealed it wasn't awkward to film an incestuous kissing scene between herself and Matt Smith, but the same probably can't be said for two hard-working extras.

The 22-year-old described how the dedicated actors had to '69 for 12 hours' while discussing the now-infamous kiss between her and on-screen uncle Smith.

Let's face it, Game of Thrones was never shy about depicting incest considering it had Lannister twins Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei (Lena Headey) caught doing the deed at the climax of the first episode.

Then, of course, there was Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) hooking up on a boat while the show kept cutting to scenes confirming she was his aunt.

Considering characters on the show often talked about how 'Targaryens often wed brother to sister' and House of the Dragon is all about the Targaryens it should probably come as no surprise that the spin-off has got some incestuous moments.

In the scene in question, Rhaenyra Targaryen is taken to a brothel by uncle Daemon and amidst all the naked, gyrating bodies they start kissing each other.

Thankfully, the affair stops at just kissing (for now, anyway) as Daemon decides to run off but it's still a bit of a difficult watch and fans have been warning each other not to watch the show with their parents.

Luckily, the creepy incestuous nature of the scenes hasn't made it difficult to film for the actors as Milly Alcock explained how there was no awkwardness involved in making the scene.

What was more surprising to Alcock was the location the kiss took place in, as she revealed that director Clare Kilner 'made sure that we hadn't seen any of the brothel stuff' before going in to film for the first time.

She said: "That was our first time walking through the brothel, and he's guiding her through the room with all of these other bodies.

"So, that was quite shocking. You're like, 'This is kind of weird and silly'."

"There were extras who we had just met who were like, 69-ing for 12 hours. It's pretty gnarly. We felt pretty overdressed, because everyone else was nude."

Now that does sound like it would feel awkward.

She told the New York Post there was nothing awkward about the kiss with Smith, however.

She said: "No, strangely enough. We were just kind of mates. So, it was quite comfortable.

"We had an intimacy coordinator, and we worked with her through the rehearsal process and blocked it out months before."

At the end of the day it was two actors who seem to get along doing their jobs professionally to get the scene done.

UK viewers can catch House of the Dragon on Sky Atlantic and NOW, while the show will be available in the US on HBO and HBO Max.
