Wordle fans are raving about a spin-off game for music.

The new game, aptly named Heardle, sees players decoding the artist and song name to a musical intro in as few tries as possible - and fans are loving it.

“A respectful homage to Wordle, with a musical twist,” the synopsis for the game explains.

“Each Heardle is semi-randomly plucked from a long list of popularly streamed artists. Much love, and all relevant copyright, to those featured.”

The game’s creators add: “Heardle was made for a small group of friends, then somehow gained millions of players overnight. Please be kind.”

Fans of the game have taken to Twitter to share their love for the new spin-off game, with one person writing: “Okay so now i’m glad wordle is a thing bc now people wanna come up with cool things like #Heardle [sic]”.

“This is my new favorite of the clones #Heardle”, Hank Green penned on the social media site.

Eleanor Neale tweeted: “finally a wordle game for hot girls with very few brain cells!!! am sick at this one as well, yous will not be hearing the end of this #Heardle #9 [sic]”.

Another added: “Omg new wordle”.

“Oh boy I love this,” Jessie wrote on the site sharing the new game website.

“Now, this is a game I can actually get behind! #Heardle #10,” echoed Calvin.

The game’s founders said that Heardle is a tribute to the popular word game, Wordle, where the aim is to try and guess a five-letter word in under six tries.
