Knoxville is perhaps best known for his time on the show Jackass.

The show premiered on MTV in 2000 and continued over three season in two years.

The series showcased nine daring stunt men and extreme sport athletes as they try their hand in reckless and dangerous stunts, always noting, “Don’t try this at home!”

Knoxville created the series alongside director Jeff Tremaine and filmmaker Spike Jonze.

The original series then led to the creation of spin-offs by other members of the cast, such as Wildboyz, Homewrecker and Dr. Steve-O.

The Jackass series then became a prolific film franchise, comprising the five movies:

Jackass: The Movie (2002), Jackass Number Two (2006), Jackass Presents: Mat Hoffman's Tribute to Evel Knievel (2008), Jackass 3D (2010), Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013).
