Don McLean Opens Up About Relationship With Former Playboy Model 48 Years Younger Than Him

Don McLean has opened up about his five-year relationship to model Paris Dylan.

The 'American Pie' singer, 75, is excited to spend the next chapter of his life with the 27-year-old at his rural property in Maine.

The pair got together soon after McLean's marriage of nearly 30 years to his second wife, Patrisha Shnier, ended in 2016.

Dylan found fame after appearing on MTV's Catfish and is a self-described '60s music lover. According to News Corp and the Daily Mail, Dylan has also dabbled with the likes of Playboy.

She was by his side when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month (August), where Don gushed about their relationship.

He told People: "She (Paris Dylan) is the most wonderful person that I have ever known. I think of her when I sing a lot of my songs.

"I'm honoured to have her as a girlfriend and a partner and we have no plans to ever break up. We are going to stay together and ride this pony as long as we can."

Don was given the coveted star on the 50th anniversary of his iconic song.

Speaking to The Times, he's opened up about how he wants to spending the remaining years of his life.

"I have an overwhelming desire to retire to my farm in Maine and not talk to anyone," he said. "She'll [Paris] be with me. I'll have horses too. I like animals. I like them a lot more than people in many ways."

"I'm with a great girl. She's different from me, I'm different from her, and we give each other a lot of room.

"I really haven't changed at all. I'm the same guy I always was. I guess when it comes down to it, I'm just a loner."

When he was asked about the breakdown of his relationship with Shnier five years ago he simply replied with: "I don't do well with relationships."

Both Patrisha Shnier and Don alleged there was domestic violence during their near-three decade marriage.

McLean was arrested and charged with misdemeanour domestic violence and he pleaded guilty to four of six charges.

As part of the agreement, he didn't have to do any jail time. Patrisha accused the singer of 'terrorising' her, while Don alleged he 'endured physical attacks' from her.
