Drake fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new album Certified Lover Boy.

The rapper says the follow up to last year's Scorpion is due in January, however it appears he's debuted something even more headline grabbing.

A photo of what appears to be Drake with a long, floppy fringe hair has been posted on social media and it has sent fans into a tailspin.

It was uploaded to the artist's Instagram, only to be deleted moments later.

Many thought it was photoshopped, however there were others who picked apart the photo pixel by pixel to prove its veracity.

The hairstyle did have the Certified Lover Boy heart shape imprint still visible, meaning it's highly likely the photo is real.

It didn't take long for people on social media to compare Drake's new 'do with other celebrities and a big one was old school Justin Bieber.

The reaction hasn't been kind and fans are worried this look could serve as the aesthetic for his upcoming album.

He hasn't mentioned the hairstyle on any of his social media accounts since pulling the photo from Instagram so we'll have to stay tuned.

After Certified Lover Boy drops, you could see Drake in a different role altogether.

Barack Obama gave Drake his backing to play him in a biopic, eight years after the rapper said it was his 'goal'.

The rapper has had his eyes on playing the former POTUS for a long time - speaking at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012, he said: "I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him. That's the goal."

Speaking on Complex's 360 With Speedy Morman, Obama was asked if he'd give the 'thumbs up' to Drake playing him.

Obama replied: "I will say this, Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants. I mean, that is a talented brother. If the time comes, and he's ready... Drake has - more importantly - my household's stamp of approval.

"I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it."

I can imagine Drake is feeling pretty excited right about now.
