Can you smell what The Rock is earning? Forbes recently released their 2019 highest-paid actors list and the ex-wrestler beat off the likes of Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar to win the title. According to the site, the Jumanji star earned a massive $89.4 million (£73.6m) from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019.
It's been a great few weeks for Dwayne Johnson. He's not only mega rich, but he married his long-time girlfriend Lauren Hashian in a secret ceremony in Hawaii and his film, Hobbs & Shaw, has enjoyed a successful release. The Rock has always been the people's champion and has credited his audience with being pivotal in his success.
In 2018, he told Forbes: "It has to be audience first. What does the audience want, and what is the best scenario that we can create that will send them home happy?"

When breaking down his huge pay-packet, Forbes say that Dwayne earns $700,000 (£576,000) for each episode of Ballers and will also see a $23.5 (£19.3) million payday for the new movie Jumanji: The Next Level which is set for release in December. He also reportedly earns seven figures in royalties for his clothing line and headphones with Under Armour.
Another celebrity with a massive deal is Iron Man himself, Robert, Downey Jr. who gets $20 million (£16.4m) upfront and nearly 8% of the pool for his role in the Marvel films. That added up to about $55 million ($45.2m) for his dramatic performance in Avengers: Endgame.

Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed)."
The Rock recently announced that he was to retire from wrestling but said that he could never completely close the door because he misses life in the ring too much.
He told TV show Live with Kelly and Ryan: "I miss wrestling. I love wrestling.
"I quietly retired from wrestling because I was lucky enough to have a wonderful career and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish.
"But there's nothing like a live crowd, live audience, live microphone."
