Everyone's favourite premonition horror franchise is gearing up for another instalment.

That's right, Final Destination 6 is reportedly in the works in Hollywood.

For the uninitiated, this movie franchise sees a group of people stalked by the grim reaper after one member gets a premonition of their impending doom.

Even though they cheat death once, it manages to catch up with them one by one in awful, bloody and gruesome ways.

Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts has jumped on board the sixth film in the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The outlet revealed Watts will also serve as a producer and has written the treatment for the HBO Max film.

New Line Cinema

The producing team includes Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor and Dianne McGunigle.

Lori Evans Taylor, who was behind Bed Rest, and Guy Busick, who worked on the Scream reboot, have been brought in to write the screenplay.

Final Destination is New Line Cinema's third highest-grossing horror series after The Conjuring and Stephen King's adaptation of It.

The original film was an absolute smash hit when it was released in 2000.

Each new movie in the franchise upped the ante when it came to how some of the people died.

Don't get us wrong, the first one had plenty of horrid ways to die, however the solarium death and the one where the guy's insides were sucked through his bum at the bottom of a pool were standouts in the following movies.

It's unclear when this sixth instalment will be released however you can rest assure that it will be bloody and it will be fantastic.
