John Travolta had just received his 737 pilot license, and boy is he proud of it.

The Grease actor, who soared to new acting heights in the 1978 film, is set to soar even higher as he now gets to fly the Boeing aircraft.

The 68-year-old actor took to Instagram to share the news, where he was seen with a giant beaming smile on his face.

In the caption, he says: "A very proud moment for me. I just received my 737 license."

Travolta has been widely known as a keen flying enthusiast for the past four decades, and, according to MailOnline, he owns at least several planes including a Boeing 707, Bombardier Challenger 601, Boeing 727, and three Gulfstream jets.

In the Instagram video, he is shown in front of his very own plane.

In the video, he says: "Okay, so very proud moment in my aviation history. To add to my 747 and 707 licenses, I just received my 737 license.

"It went very well, just sharing my moment with you."

Adorable from the Golden Globe winner.

The congratulations came in from Travolta's peers, with Motley Crue's Tommy Lee leading the charge, saying: "Ata boy captain."

American singer and actress Kate Ceberano also lent her applause, saying: "Congratulations superstar."

Travolta has been a licensed pilot since he was 22 years old with his passion for aircraft beginning at just 15 when he started taking flying lessons.

In May 2020, Travolta shared an old school image that indicated the entry point of his passion for flying.

The photo was captioned: "Throwback Thursday: When I was 15 years old, my school offered an aviation class which started my second career."

He now owns a private runway at his Florida home and even wrote a book titled Propeller One-Way Night Coach about a boy's very first flight.

His love of aviation was also formally recognised by Qantas, who made him an official ambassador in 2002. He has also been inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation back in 2007.

According to Alliance Aviation, learning to fly a 737 is the next step for pilots wanting to switch from private use to piloting commercial airline aircraft.

So who knows, maybe next time you're on a Boeing flight you might hear the velvety tones of the American actor welcoming you on board.
