Dating coach says one text message from a partner could actually be a very worrying sign

A Tiktok dating expert has shared a commonly received message she considers a concerning warning sign.

Dating is already hard enough in a world where we're constantly comparing ourselves or our partners to the filtered relationships we see on TV and social media, and the growing list of 'red flag' behaviours isn't really doing much to help at all.

Of course, we shouldn't settle for less when it comes to finding the person we want to spend the rest of our lives with, or even just a few weeks, but singletons are seemingly constantly looking for a way out, often via a behaviour which the internet has decided is an 'ick'.

Now, I'm not encouraging you to forgive someone who has just cheated on you or showed up to the first date looking like they hadn't showered in days, but it's important to keep an open mind when dating.

However, I'm no expert, and online dating coach Sabrina Zohar probably is, so maybe she's got a point when she suggests that a text as seemingly innocent as 'good morning' can often have underlying problems.

In her video, she says: "Do you know how many dudes I dated that would send me good morning texts, as well as 17 other f***ing girls that they were dating. And I know it makes you feel like 'oh, my God, they're thinking of me. Oh, my God, they said good morning to me, I'm on their mind and they care about me', but the problem with that is a lot of people are just chasing a feeling. A lot of people are bored. A lot of people want to feel like they have a relationship, so they will start doing the 'relationshipy' things. And then, as you start to progress, that's why you see that person start to pull away."

She goes on to clarify that she would much prefer someone who texts every few days at the start of a budding relationship, and wants to get to know them over dates, rather than the 'low effort s**t' of sending good morning texts.

So, there you have it. If you're just starting up a relationship, then it's important to note that you shouldn't so interest by trying to talk to them over text, as you might find yourself in the situation where you have nothing to say to each other in person, apparently.

But if you've been married for a long time and you get these good morning texts then, personally, I wouldn't worry.
