The title for Matrix 4 has finally been unveiled at CinemaCon.

The fourth instalment to the incredible film franchise will be called The Matrix: Resurrections.

The first footage of the movie has been played in front of audiences at the event and it shows Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) going by his virtual persona Thomas Anderson and is sporting John Wick-style hair.

According to Deadline, he is sitting with his therapist (played by Neil Patrick Harris), and asks "Am I crazy?".

Harris' character replied: "We don't use that word in here."

Keanu's character is taking two blue pills a day and then runs into Trinity (Carrie Anne Moss) in a coffee shop. Despite the two being in love and going on a wild adventure in the previous three films, it appears they don't know each other.

"Have we met before?" Trinity asks.

The trailer also features some epic fight sequences and all the usual things you would expect from a Matrix film.

The film is set for release on December 22 later this year.
